Qualifications and Standards
SkillsPlus UK has a range of roles in relation to the development and review of Qualifications and Standards.
It has been established to:
- Promote the use of National Occupational Standards as benchmarks of good practice, and performance management tools in local authorities
- Directly manage the development, review, promotion and implementation support of NOS and NVQs/SVQs for two areas in local government:
- Influence the development, review and support for standards and qualifications developed by a number of SSCs and other Standards Setting Bodies in service areas relevant to local authorities such as teaching and classroom assistants, housing, landscaping, school catering, etc.
- Support the development, review and implementation of standards and qualifications in cross sector activities such as leadership and management, customer service, skills for life, business administration, financial management, project management, etc.
